The economic downturn has shifted the workforce away from traditional full-time models towards flexible solutions for human resources needs - talent which cost-conscious companies can switch “on” and “off” when needed.
Correspondingly, a new pool of qualified talent is ready to fill these gaps for both short-term projects and entrepreneurial needs. This group of “hired guns” consists of senior-level talent, would-be retirees, and a myriad of qualified job-seekers who are hungry for a good challenge.
Our panel will explore:
• How can companies take advantage of short-term needs with “hired guns”?
• How can individuals approach the temporary workforce as a career option?
• How can social networking tools better connect employers and short-term talent?
Our panel will discuss the trends, implications and modern approaches to this new workforce paradigm. The panelists include Bob Jordan founder of the InterimCEO / CFO, Chuck Smith president of NewOffice / NewHire and Melissa Giovagnoli founder of Networlding.
The panel will be moderated by Anita Brick, Director of Career Advancement Programs at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
