Hey Dan,
I really wanted to go to the summit but I have been so busy at work lately I could not justify taking the time off. Did you go? Unfortunately I live just a little too far away to make it to many events in the city.
Greetings Dan, I really enjoyed the Summit yesterday. I am sorry we didn't connect. I didn't stay too long afterwards because I had a class to get to. Thanks for saying Hello

Thanks Dan. I just checked out the Chicago Calling web site and the festival looks really interesting. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing Kerouac's On the Road manuscript at Columbia.

I was able to make it to part of the summit each day. What did you think?
ethnographic rhetoric is her specific interest, although she's been teaching eng comp as part of her assistanceship. I'll be attending. I registered early ($$D'OH!$$), so it would be a waste to miss it. I'm sure your kids would be okay for a class or two, maybe you should break away to the summit.
not as much photography as I used to. I'm a camera operator now for tv and corporate video. Your job sounds very interesting, my wife is studying to be an Literature prof... Starting her doctorate next fall. Are you planning to attend CNMS?

The artwork, is my partners, Syndy Ziegenfuss, I am the epoxy resin finisher on the projects and a partner in TPSI. Our site (Tiger Puppet Studios) is www.tigerpuppet.com. Syndy just signed with Caldwell Snyder Gallery in CA and NY- and they will be having a show in November. Our next local show will be a Holiday show for our friends at Uncommon Ground- the new one on Devon- Thanks!!
The video took some conceptualization but Anna and I work well together so a lot of things just sort of fell into place on their own.
We're collaborating on another piece right now which is also based on some of my writings. Thanks again and please check out more of my work here: vignettenoelle.com
I prefer the city life then the suburbs; more to do and see. Awaiting to finish up my degree and checking into grad programs. Looking into Columbia as a possible school; hard to find colleges that promote new media.
In my dissertation I used RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, Civilization IV, and Making History: The Calm & The Storm. I ran a qualitative study that described how learning occurred and how the game interface was used. If you want to read more, check out http://www.situatedgaming.com/games.html.
I'm living back home here in Chicago and job hunting currently (I graduated in May). I noticed that Columbia just posted an opening for faculty specializing in game design, have you heard about that? Any recommendations? I was leaning towards a job in the game industry, but that might be fun too.
Daniel, good to meet you here. Thanks for the add as a friend. I've just joined this group....in interest for the upcoming Summit. Are you attending?
I'm a marketing and ad pro - agency side and work primarily with packaged goods, retail and food/beverage clients. Most recently I was with MARC USA......and now working as pro-bono account director with Taproot Foundation....while also networking for new opportunities.
I'm actually an alum from Columbia College and see you teach there currently? The Chicago Calling Arts Festival seems like a very cool endeavor.
Cheers,
Ann
I play a number of instruments, but I am primarily a bassist. I was an aspiring writer when I was younger, so that naturally spun off an inclination for music composition. I still dabble in poetry, essay and art criticism.
Bill Russo was the head of the music department in the 80s up until his death in 2002, and also director of the Chicago Jazz Ensemble. I thought that he had legacy over there, but perhaps not.
Well I have been spending a little time pulling this Summit together! I will be in the TV studio again on Monday to tape a few segments of my www.tatv.org show. What's up on your end? Thanks.
