CONVERGENCE LEADERSHIP ROLES DEFINED

CONVERGENCE BOARD:

Responsibilities: Both providing high-level advice on strategies and tactics, which will benefit the progress of the movement as a whole, and being a key part of the solutions recommended. Providing access to individuals and organizations, which will benefit the movement as a whole. This includes potential sponsors, presenters, advisors, business leaders (educational, for-profit, investors), and government contacts. Members of the Board will endorse the movement, and must be cash or in-kind sponsors at a level, which, after evaluation of the current Board, is believed to have a substantial and beneficial impact on the progress of the movement (regardless of actual dollar value of cash or in-kind contributions). This is a financial and strategic management role of The Chicago Convergence. Key component of their role is to evangelize and reach out to additional sponsoring organizations. Each board member agrees to host a sponsoring event (corporate lunch, etc). The Board will consist of a wide array of individuals who represent different aspects of the movement, as well as organizations both big and small so as to maintain its connection to its grassroots beginnings and ideals.

Voting: Yes.

Commitment: 4 Board meetings a year, participation in voting, 1 year.

Benefit: We identify with Logo placement on the site w/ link. Free Attendance to events, VIP opportunities and invitations.

ADVISORY BOARD:

Responsibilities: Providing advice on strategies and tactics, which will benefit the movement. Providing access to individuals and organizations, which will benefit the movement as a whole. This includes potential sponsors, presenters, advisors, business leaders (educational, for-profit, investors), and government contacts. Members of the Advisory Board must endorse the movement, but are not expect to be a sponsor themselves.

Voting: No.

Commitment: Attendance of 4 Advisory Board meetings (in person or via conference call) each year, and for 1 year.

Benefits: Free Attendance to events, VIP opportunities and invitations.

How to get involved: Approval by the current management team and/or consensus of the MANAGEMENT TEAM. (newmediasummit@gmail.com)


MANAGEMENT TEAM:

Responsibilities: Manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of “The Chicago Convergence” non-profit organization: website, meetings and conference calls, scheduling of events, marketing & PR. Manages both the annual “big event” and participates in the “collision” events which spontaneously arise through the independent actions of participants in the movement. Finds ways to connect the organization to as many people as possible. The management team is not expected to be a sponsor although they can.

Voting: Not unless a member of the Board.

Commitment: Attendance of regular meetings and conference calls for 1 year.
