GigaOm discusses the need for better mobile networks. Relevant for us is that the primary device for 18-24 year olds is the mobile phone.

Floyd, thanks for getting in touch. We have just finished the Barcelona festival with Kevin Spacey, but I'm immediately embarking on two more. One is for user generated adverts for some major brands we are working on. We hope to release this in the next 10 days. Its pretty cool and builds on the work Frito-Lay did around the Superbowl. In fact we've brought one of the guys who ran that over from Frito-Lay.

The other is in China in June. we are just finalising the sponsorship details, but it will be film for mobile in connection with a major film festival.

If there's anything I can do to raise awareness of the creativity in your community let me know. We had this crazy vision two years ago and thanks to friends like Andre, Keith and Elliot at Raindance its coming to fruition!

11th February 2009, London, UK:
"MOFILM, the world's biggest mobile film festival and Raindance.tv, the IPTV and networked community service for filmmakers and film fans alike today announced a partnership to collaborate for mobile content and film."

We can be involved in this easily.

Hugh, I spoke to my friend Elliot Grove at the Raindance Film Festival in London about MoFilm Fest that Spacey was at. Raindance was a sponsor of the MOFILM Fest. Elliot will get me a name at MOFILM.

The New York Times has a good article on U2 with plenty of comments on the business of music. “How do you puncture pop consciousness with a tune anymore? That’s actually your first job as a songwriter.” The article goes on to describe some of the steps taken, and how the lingering question of relevancy to new audiences impacts their business.

I contend, that most media will be sold and viewed on mobiles in the future. This is why we are initially focusing on the iPhone. It is a media device more than a mobile phone, as usage statistic verify. Less than 50% of usage is call related, according to Nielsen. A post is on our blog…

Hello Hugh, I am working with Michael on the possibility of creating a mobile presence for the group. Nuno is the developer in our joint project. We have to stabilize our start-up before we are able to really get moving however, but I’m sure we’ll speak at least during the next MoMo. Of course, if you know of any companies looking for media-centric marketing applications in the iPhone territory, let us know! Thanks.

Mike, thanks for stepping up! Let's chat briefly as I'd love to learn more. I'll reach out to the mobile community, Floyd. I know people and there are plenty others here in Chicago.
