What you will need:
-yourself
-your friends (willingly)
-a GREEN shirt
and
-either a BLUE or YELLOW shirt over your green shirt.
Here’s the plan:
The people wearing the yellow shirts will congregate at the Pritzker Pavilion (the big curvy metal band shell) and look for someone in a black stove-top hat (think Abe Lincoln.)
The people wearing the blue shirts will congregate at the Face Fountains that spit water on Michigan Ave. and look for someone in a white bowler hat (think A Clockwork Orange just a different color.)
At 12 noon the two groups will be lead toward The Bean, each shouting their respective colors. In other words, the people in yellow will continuously shout, “Yellow!” and the people in blue will continuously shout, “Blue!” When the groups reach visual distance of each other, they will stop and continue shouting until the people in hats begin to charge. As soon as the groups “collide,” everyone will strip off their first shirt to reveal a green shirt underneath and quickly disperse.
Please be careful as we don’t want anyone to get knocked out during this process. (Explain that to your mom.)
IMPORTANT: Everyone should act as if they have no recollection of what just occurred. Disperse quickly but don’t run away. This will add to the preposterousness of it all and get people talking more. If somebody asks you what that was all about be creative, but polite and a “huh?” will do quite nicely.
We want to have a decently equal number of blue and yellow shirts. Since blue seems to be a more common color in people’s closets don’t be shy if you own a yellow one. If you’re bringing friends try to equal yourselves out. Have fun being happily reunited in the middle.
