Hi Evan,
I do promotion work for Avot Media (http://www.avotmedia.com), the first mobile video solution that transcodes-on-the-fly and streams simultaneously, offers seamless 3G to 2G handoffs, and allows the end user no buffering at the front end, no stuttering and no image breakdown. The patented technology is AMAZING. You'll be hearing a lot more about them in the near future - Chumby.com is using their technology for video transmission.

Write or call if you have any questions. I'm at 630.845.4694.

I'm wondering why TV is not on Mobile phones? More so Local TV instead of national shows going through something like V-Cast. Other nations have been doing it for years. To me it seems better to build in a TV tuner to a cell phone and layer on a level of interactivity, that can handle data instead of video content.

The data could sync up with the content that is being broadcast through one of the local stations digital channels. Then selections about ads or more detailed information could be selected while the TV program is running. If clicked, they could go to a web page or a something they want to buy.

I would think tech like this would be something the cellphone manufactures, carrier's, broadcasters, and customers would want. It could even make TV more relevant to people riding on the train or a bus when they couldn't watch TV. Carrier's wouldn't have to build bigger pipes and manage content.
